I have reason to believe that Tarek, one of our security guards, is trying to kill me. My body is resisting any muscle movement; my lungs won't fill to full capacity. It's a pleasant feeling. Tarek is a certified personal trainer; a couple weeks ago he offered to give cardio-conditioning classes two to three times a week. Tonight was our second class; it was harder than the first one. We ran for thirty minutes straight; we did push-ups; we did crunches; we did lunges; we did wall-sits; we did sprints. And if you can believe it, we did many more exercises than just those. Don't get me wrong; I am incredibly happy to be working-out again. I just wish I could move! I am really excited to run in Galilee over the next eleven days. It will feel amazing to get those muscles moving again and for long periods of time!
It has been such an amazing day. We didn't have any classes so we were able to do whatever we wanted! After a relaxed morning I headed over to Hebrew University with Megan, Alyse, and M'kell to catch Bus 4 to to the Milcha Mall. However, we arrived a few minutes late and missed the bus, so we ended up catching a taxi instead. It was a very relaxing ride, and we didn't have to brush elbows with the local Israeli people! We had such a fun day at the mall! We went to so many stores, including H&M. It is so depressing that we don't have an H&M in Utah. I have always wondered why they haven't opened one there yet. For lunch, we went to the food court and got whatever met our fancy. I ended up at a kosher sandwich place and got a warm tomato, egg, and onion sandwhich. It was kind of like eating a tomato quiche on a roll; yum! I actually really liked it. We mostly just spent the day wandering around the mall. I ended up getting a pair of much needed flip-flops and a couple of headbands. I couldn't find much else, however. Sometimes you have those days where nothing jumps out to you, where nothing really makes you think, "Now hey, that is something I could wear every single day; it's so cute!" But that's okay. It's not like I need any more clothes. Plus, anything I bought probably wouldn't get worn until I was back in Utah anyway.
We got back to the Jerusalem Center after 2:30 in the afternoon. From there, I went down to my room and sat on my bed to relax for a while. I tried doing a little homework, but we all know what happens when I try to do homework! At 4:30, Wayna wandered into my room looking for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 because a group of people wanted to watch it. So where did I end up next? In the student lounge watching Harry Potter, of course. We took a break for dinner and then headed back into the lounge to finish the movie. Everyone is very excited for the last movie to come out in the next couple of weeks; some of them are even planning on heading to Tiberias to see it when we are in Galilee. I think I will end up waiting to see it until I get back to the United States. I don't really like 3D movies that much, and it will inevitably be in 3D at the Jerusalem theaters. It was still fun to watch the movie, though. It has been fun to grow up with Harry Potter. I think the first book came out when I was eight years old and the movie for it came out with I was eleven. So it will be weird to not have a year of a new Harry Potter release or even the hope of a new Harry Potter release. I guess we always have to move on at some time. There are still the last Twlight movies to look forward to......barf.
We leave for Galilee tomorrow very early. I am really excited. I have always wanted to go to Galilee; Jesus spent a lot of his life there! We will be living in Ein Gev, in a kibbutz directly on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Are you jealous yet? We will get to sit on the beach, soaking up the sun's rays (and frying like a lobster) nearly every day for the next eleven days. While I am in Galilee, I will not have access to a computer (unless someone wants to love me)...due to the fact that mine has crossed over into it's next life. So you will have to wait to experience my adventures in Galilee until I get back!
I finished the evening folding laundry and talking to my oldest sister, Candace, on Gmail chat. Candace is such a delightful person. I am so thankful for the time I have been able to spend with her the past two years. It has meant so much to me to be able to get so close to her. I don't remember her and me having the closest relationship growing up; she moved out when I was about thirteen. It will be really hard when she moves away in a few months...but I am happy that we were able to spend time together for at least two years. She means so much to me. I am thankful that we have been able to bond over oreos, ice cream, ducks, and mystery dinners! (Are you satisfied, woman? Hahahahaha!)
